Security Ledger is reporting on the various hacking prizes available at CanSecWest here.
There is the Pwn2Own contest sponsored by HP and Google with a series of prizes going as much as $100k for various exploits. And then Google is throwing another one of its Pwnium events. This year there are rewards for Chrome OS exploits for up to a total of $3.14159 million in prizes:
- $110,000: browser or system level compromise in guest mode or as a logged-in user, delivered via a web page.
- $150,000: compromise with device persistence -- guest to guest with interim reboot, delivered via a web page.
Vancouver is one of my favorite places in the world, and this might be motivation to go visit at that time of time.
