M.M. shared that her toughest job search question was: “What are you looking for?”
This is a tough question, because the employer isn’t really asking what they appear to ask. The question isn’t about you…it’s about the employer, and how you will fit into their plans.

Ah, stupid questions that ensure an employer will not get what it's looking for in a developer or IT professional. We tend to be direct. Ask us a question that purports to be about us and we'll answer it as if, well, it's about us. If it's really an opportunity to kiss butt... most likely we'll miss it, or if not, not really do a good job with the smooching. There are lots of people out there who can knock such questions out of the park. They tend to be great butt-kissers, but not so hot when it comes to doing the job.
