Job Description

The candidate for this position must be proficient in the configuration and administration of Cisco, VMware and Microsoft Server 2008/2012 architecture. Candidate will provide network administration and support to a Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise architecture. Candidate must have knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and internet standards, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, RADIUS, PKI, VoIP, and SNMP. Have in-depth knowledge and be capable of troubleshooting layers 1-7 of the OSI model in an operational environment. They must possess the ability to effectively prioritize tasking in a high-pressure team-oriented collaborative environment and have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Qualified candidates will work as a Network Administrator. The candidate will work independently to provide on-call support for National Guard personnel operating the multiple components that comprise the Consequence Management Communication Systems (CMCS). Working independently will require that the candidates is a CMCS Subject Matter Expert (SME) and have experience in monitoring infrastructure systems for windows environments. Knowledge of backup products and methodologies, and support of web-based applications for internal (intranet) site and external (Internet) sites. This knowledge is crucial do to the having to make decisions that directly affect the functionality of the deployed systems and ultimately the status of the warfighter. SME's will work one-on-one with the end-user to assess the trouble report, develop a solution, and assist the end-user in the implementation of that solution. Trouble reports can be triggered by users, sensors, and/or operational personnel. Upon
completion of the Trouble Report, the SME will file the required information in the CMCS database.

As a normal part of the position, candidates will support a rotation for on-call support for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Skills
IT certifications: Security+ w/CE

Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel

Ability to work on a team of specialists providing on-call support

Strong verbal and written skills

Secret security clearance

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline plus at least one (1) years' experience in telecommunications


Associate's degree in technical discipline plus 2-5 years' experience in telecommunications

Appropriate Certifications combined with Experience will also be considered in lieu of degree requirements
