We are seeking a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support our mission critical systems.
This position will be responsible for the following:
•This position supports a geographically dispersed, state of the art systems that seamlessly integrate Linux and Microsoft services.
•Support to multiple WAN connected sites, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and will follow specific IT project management and engineering life cycle processes. Will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project life cycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support.
•Project assignments will vary and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance.
•Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
•Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design; I/O design; firmware development; model formulation; manufacturing and development cost projections; computer architecture analysis and design; and analog or digital systems engineering.
•Performs systems modeling; simulation and analysis.
•Plans upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
•Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
•Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
•Identifies, analyzes and resolves system problems.
•Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
•Determines system specifications; input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
•Provides guidance and work leadership to junior systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibility.
•May serve as a technical team or task lead.
•Serves as liaison with clients; participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
•Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
•Participates in special projects as required.
•Ability to travel worldwide, as well as On-Call support.
•Bachelor degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline; or equivalent of a minimum of 8 years combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience creating Windows desktop and server builds, and hardening to meet STIG and SCAP compliance.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with automating application and package deployments using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 or later.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) to include AD replication and Group Policy Object management.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience with Veritas NetBackup.
•Strong communication skills.
This position requires the candidate to have a current TS/SCI security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
